#fuel, #consumption #fuel_ economy
In this video we will look at 10 causes of excessive fuel consumption. Please watch this vodeo untill the end to fully understand the causes and then find ways to reduce fuel consumption, Excessive fuel consumption can be avoided should you know reasons leading to it, that's why we have made this video on causes of poor fuel economy,
We strongly hope this video will help you reduce fuel consumption of your engine and consequently result in reduced running cost.
in this video we are looking at causes of excessive fuel consumption
dirty or clogged air filter
if there is less air entrance into the engine that can cause excessive fuel demand because as there is less air in order to travel and in order to reach the designated distance you have to burn extra fuel that can lead to excessive fuel consumption
engine management system fault
the engine management is a mechanism that will inject the proper amount of fuel by gathering data from the different sensors, all those data will be analyzed and the amount of fuel to be injected will be then decided. if there is a problem with this engine management system, that can lead to excessive fuel consumption. that could be caused by the ecu problem or that could be caused by sensor problem
faulty injectors
injectors should hold up fuel when there is no electric sent to them or when the time is not right. only at the appropriate time they should inject fuel; however, if there is a problem with the injector valve seat, if there is a problem with the needle seat, they will start leaking fuel and that will cause excessive fuel consumption
low tire pressure or incorrect tire size
if you have recently changed your tyre with a different sized one that can lead to excessive fuel consumption. when the tire size is different the amount of distance that can be covered with the rotation of that tire will be different from the previous one so if there is incorrect tire size the amount of fuel that you need to cover the designated distance will somehow increase. for example if you have installed smaller tires they have to rotate much more in order to cover similar distance with the previous tyre, that will lead to excessive fuel consumption. low tire pressure can also lead to excessive fuel consumption
problem with the brake system
if there is brake binding that can also lead to excessive fuel consumption. binding brakes will cause resistance for the tires to spin and that leads to excessive fuel consumption because in order to overcome that binding force and travel the designated distance you have to put in more effort and that will cost you fuel and that is another reason for excessive fuel consumption
improperly set ignition timing
if there is a problem with the ignition timing, that will definitely lead to incorrect fuel consumption. if there is a problem with the ignition timing incomplete combustion might take place, if there is retarded timing problem, exhaust valve will open before the combustion is complete, that will cause hydrocarbon leakage to the atmosphere and that will also lead to excessive fuel consumption s
problem with the choke system
if choke is sticking or improperly adjusted on carburetor models, that can also lead to excessive fuel consumption. This is because the choke will restrict air entrance into the intake manifold, so by restricting air we will make the air fuel mixture rich, that means we have extra fuel than the normal ratio. so if there is a binding or improperly adjusted choke that will lead to excessive fuel consumption
problem with the emission control system
if the emission system does not function properly, that can also lead to excessive fuel consumption.
fault in the fuel or electrical system
if there is a problem in the fuel related systems, if there is a problem on the electrical systems, that can also lead to excessive fuel consumption. If low grade fuel is used, if there is a problem with the production of strong spark on the ignition system, that might lead to incomplete combustion, causing excessive fuel consumption
excessively worn carburetor or fuel injection system parts
on a carburetor there are jets that are small fuel passages, those jets are also designed to limit the amount of fuel that is passing to the engine, if somehow they are eroded and the opening increases that will also lead to excessive fuel consumption
when it comes to the fuel injection system, if the diesel injection injectors are having low opening pressure they will start injecting fuel early and they will stop injecting fuel late that will lead to excessive fuel consumption.
probably one of these problems, or maybe multiple of them are causing your engine to have excessive fuel consumption

We know that you have gotten used to us reviewing sedans and SUVs, but today we are taking a different route. Today, we will look at the trucking industry, which is an area that has so much to talk about, yet people just overlook it. The trucking industry is a very essential part of the automotive industry. This is because it is these trucks that are used to haul most of the heavy cargo on the road. To start this off, we will look at one of the most famous trucks in the industry, which is the Kenworth W900. This is a truck that has left many surprised for the 2024 model year. But what is it about this truck that makes it pretty great? Let’s find out, shall we?
Hello everyone, and welcome back to our channel. Today, we will look at the 2024 Kenworth W900 as we learn more about trucks. As the video progresses, we will also compare it to some of its competitors, just to show you what a great truck this is. But before we continue, make sure you leave a like and subscribe to our channel for more amazing updates on your favorite cars. And with that, let’s look at the 2024 Kenworth W900.
When it comes to the world of heavy-duty trucks, Kenworth is a name that never lacks. It has earned a legendary status in the industry over the years. Kenworth was founded in 1923, and it has been synonymous with quality, durability, and innovation. To be more specific, the Kenworth W900 has been a flagship model for the company ever since it was introduced. As for the 2024 model, let’s just say that it has stuck to its roots. This is more than a truck. It is a symbol of power and reliability on the road.
One of the greatest features of the 2024 Kenworth W900 is its timeless design. As other truck manufacturers slowly bend towards modern aesthetics, Peterbilt and Freightliner.
However, as new designs come out, the Peterbilt 389 has leaned more towards this modern styling, now featuring a more streamlined and aerodynamic design compared to the Kenworth W900. This design choice clearly shows how preferences are evolving as trucking companies and drivers seek to prioritize fuel efficiency and reduce drag.
Even though there is a huge difference in the design philosophies of these trucks, each of them has its own dedicated customer base. There are those who prefer the classic, rugged look of the Kenworth W900, while others prefer the modernity and advanced technology that come with Freightliner and Peterbilt. In the end, the choice comes down to the preferences of the trucking company as well as those of the drivers.
Underneath all those rugged looks, the 2024 Kenworth W900 boasts a range of impressive features and capabilities. People can get this truck in a number of various configurations, each suited for a specific application. These applications range from long-haul freight to heavy construction. The W900 can come with different engine options, some of which include the powerful Paccar MX-14 and the legendary Cummins X15. Both of these engines provide enough horsepower and torque to handle even the toughest tasks.
When it comes to performance, the Kenworth W900 is renowned for its robust drivetrain and suspension systems. It has some heavy-duty axles and suspension components that ensure a smooth and comfortable ride, even when it is carrying very heavy loads. The W900 has reliable transmission options, including manual and automated transmissions. These allow the drivers to have full control over their truck’s performance.
When you step inside the 2024 Kenworth W900, it is like you are on a different planet. It offers a very spacious and comfortable environment, suited for long-haul drivers.
As much as the Kenworth W900 is known to provide a comfortable and functional cabin, Peterbilt and Freightliner have also made some adjustments to enhance the driver’s comfort and convenience. For example, Peterbilt’s interiors have a reputation for coming with some premium materials and attention to detail, all of which work together to create a luxurious atmosphere inside the cab. On the other hand, Freightliner’s Cascadia comes with a driver-centric design, placing more focus on ergonomics and connectivity to keep drivers productive on the road.
When it comes to safety features, the 2024 Kenworth W900 doesn’t really compromise.
Another critical aspect that determines the success of most trucks nowadays is fuel efficiency.
It goes without saying that the 2024 Kenworth W900 is a truck worth having. This is especially for those who are looking for power, as well as the old, rugged design. But what do you think of the 2024 Kenworth W900? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below. And before you go, make sure you leave a like and subscribe to our channel for more amazing updates on your favorite cars.
Thanks for watching, and I’ll see you in the next one!

How much fuel does an idling engine use? After how long will an idling engine use more fuel than simply shutting the engine off, and then restarting it? It turns out, most Americans have no idea, as the journal of Energy Policy interviewed 1,300 US drivers, and the average time guessed was 3.6 minutes! 3.6 minutes worth of engine idling fuel required to simply start up an engine!
Well, let's put the myths to rest and look at actual data, published in the journal of SAE. Researchers took two identical engines and measured their idle fuel consumption, how much fuel they required to start up, and then spent time conducting real world driving tests to see if engine start-stop systems actually save fuel. Check out the video to see the results!
